Nothing but love for Sharon Needles

Turns out Sharon Needles' presence in the A was a little more intense than I thought it was!  Though I didn't see any protesters, they were there.  She also met up with some activists before her show - which didn't go so well.  That explains why when I told her she was awesome she said, "Well, that's debatable".  I also learned that we have the same glasses.

Soulmates!  I kid.  Anyways - the bizarre meeting is also what spawned this during her show:

Honestly, it almost brought me to tears.  (I say "almost" because I didn't want to smear my makeup.  Priorities, people!)
But seriously though, I think the whole uproar is unnecessary.  I'm familiar with the pushing of buttons and that's all she's doing.  I think she's great and if Drag Race and Absolut has a problem with her, don't you think they'd come out and say something?  I'm guessing their absence from all this means they don't have a problem with it - though it would be nice of them to speak out on her behalf...
Either way I stand by Sharon Needles and I think she's very progressive and wonderful and she's definitely the future of drag.  Sure, there's minor bumps along the way but I love what she's doing with drag and I wish I had seen her particular brand of drag growing up.  Technically, I did with Marylin Manson but that's not really the same.  But it was pretty great that she opened with Manson's "Beautiful People".  Here's a short clip I took

I didn't want to watch the show from behind my camera so I turned it off right before it got really good.  Oops!
Here's a better clip from Project Q Atlanta

And here's more photos. I still stand by that it was a GREAT night and I hope she will return to Atlanta because I know I won't be the only one to welcome her with open arms.

Sharon Needles visits Atlanta

Last night!  Oh my lawd last night was so much fun!!  At first I wasn't sure what to expect with all the protest talk and all that but I didn't see a single protester.  I guess they must have showed up later since Sharon kept saying they were out there.  Either way - last night was AMAZING!  I love a good drag show and last night's did NOT disappoint.  I mean how could it?  Phoenix was there.  Nicole Paige Brooks was there.  Savannah Leigh was there.  One of my most FAVOURITE performers Envy Van Micheals was there (Love her so much!!!).  And, of course, Sharon fucking Needles was there.
I'll let my photos explain the rest but I'll also let my photos state my case for a new camera since I can't get it to behave EVER.  Ugh...

Pardon me while I get all glammed up...
Ready!

I was told to pose so this was the best I could come up with so excuse the crazy look on my face! Sharon was an absolute doll and I'm glad I stuck around to meet her! She was great! I couldn't think of anything clever to say so I said, "Sharon, you're so awesome" to which she said, "Well, that's debatable". I told her she was the best part of her season of Drag Race and that she was the future of drag. She was lovely and amazing up close and I'm so happy that I was able to experience her.  Thanks for a wonderful night, ladies!

Check out more photos here!  And if I find anymore, I'll be sure to post them or direct you to them.  Enjoy!

Sharon Needles TONIGHT!

Today is a pretty big day.  I bought my ticket yesterday (talk about procrastinating!) to see . . . SHARON NEEDLES!  Ack!  I'm so excited!  At first, I wasn't too keen on getting tickets to a drag show but then I remembered: Duh, she's the winner of Drag Race, the place will be PACKED!
As I was rummaging through my closet last night, I decided I'd do pinup girl realness since I don't need to get any extra supplies.  Well...maybe some new falsies and I also need to get a bright lip stain at some point.  The one I currently have is more plum and it's almost out!  What's a girl to do!  LOL We'll see how I am on time.
When I got to work, I was busy watching pinup hair tutorials (during a tape capture) and I decided I'd start the process early.  So far, I have my bang curl done and all I have left to do is curl the ends when I get home.

So excited about seeing @sharonneedlespgh tonight that I've started getting ready already

If I had thought about it earlier, I would've tried to enter the Sharon look-a-like contest.  You know, for shits and giggles - especially since I'm not a tall, super skinny white boy.  That would've been funny.  But I'll stick to the pinup stuff and keep it semi-light.
On the plus side: my undercut is growing out nicely and I was able (with the aide of lots of hairspray) to pin it back so that my hairdo is kind of even on both sides.  I really wish I had enough hair on my left side so that I could do victory rolls.  I mean, I've been letting my hair get super greasy for days and I was able to get the right side looking perfect but alas, there's not enough hair on the left side for that without it looking really strange.  Just a few more months (I hope!).
I'm so anxious I can't wait to get home and start my makeup!  I think I'll go heavy with some red eyeshadow and do a red and black smoky eye.  We'll see.  Hopefully I won't have to rearrange looks like I did on Saturday.  Maybe I'll ditch the pinup thing and go punk rock glam?  We'll see how the day holds up!

Who else is going?  Did you hear about the protest?

Friday Fun with Sharon Needles (merch)

I did it.  I don't know why it took me so long but I finally did it.

Maybe it's because I didn't know they were out yet.

Maybe it's because I'm lazy.

Maybe it's because I don't keep up with social media like I should.

It could be a lot of things.

Either way, I did it.

It started with Googling Sharon Needles and Alaska.  I couldn't remember Alaska's full name!  And as soon as I saw it, how could I forget?!  Alaska Thunderfuck.  Of course!

The reason I was Googling those two was because RuPaul asked Sharon about Alaska on the finale of Drag Race and I guess I was feeling kinda bummed out for Sharon for thinking that Alaska would get all jealous because Sharon made it to the show and she didn't.  But with a name like Thunderfuck, I'm guessing there were some reservations about having her on the show.
I've never seen Alaska perform but I LOVE her website.  And she's GORGEOUS!!  I'd love to see her come through Atlanta and perform!  That would be so great!

So - after I was fawning over Sharon and Alaska together, I remembered something: wasn't Sharon supposed to have some "I ran into Sharon Needles at Party City" shirts available or something?  I remember seeing something in March on her Facebook page...I guess I never really remembered to check - UNTIL NOW.

Source

Yes, they're for sale HERE and yes, I ordered one.  Of course I did!  If I had thought about it before, I would've had it here in time for Monday's reunion show where the winner will be revealed!  I'm already tweeting my little heart out in Sharon's defense.  Are you?!

Let's hope she gets crowned and that the Drag Race Tour will hit up Atlanta very VERY soon!

Drag Race Season 4 catch up - Sharon Needles is MY QUEEN

Since I'm feeling so far behind on all the drama I've been seeing on the Twitter-machine about RuPaul's Dragrace season 4, I decided it was time...time to hop on over to logotv.com and catch up (finally!). Usually VH1 will air the latest episode the day after it airs on Logo but they're slipping this time, boo. Lamesters.
I had kind of seen which queens were on this season but I hadn't seen all of them - I only paid attention to the Puerto Rican girls (Boriqua represent!) and...that was pretty much it so I never really saw anyone else.  That was my bad too because having seen the first 5 episodes, I have determined that Sharon Needles is MY QUEEN.

She is so F A B U L O U S and I can't say it enough!  And she's cute as a guy too!  WHAT!!!
I don't even know what else to say about her except when Phi Phi O'Hara was all "Go back to Party City where you belong!" all I wanted to do was cut Phi Phi right in her face.  Sharon is right girl, she IS the future of drag.
What I really can't wait for is the Snatch Game because I know Sharon was Michelle Visage and I'm pretty sure she was flawless

I mean, come on.

And we all know Chad was a flawless Cher of course

I seriously stared at this gif really hard for a very long time to make sure it was Chad in there.  CRAZY.

But let's talk about Willam for a moment.  He was all "Blah blah I've been on TV blah blah" and I was like "Where, bitch?  Where have I seen you?"  I iMDb'd that girl and saw that she was on a few episodes of my favourite trash show Nip/Tuck as the tranny that gets beat half to death and I thought the same thing about Willam then as I do now: Girl, you look like a boy who just slapped a wig on your head.  Yes, I thought she was a terrible tranny on Nip/Tuck and my opinion has not really changed.  Sure she's won a challenge or something (the mug shot one at least) but dammit - I think her game needs to be tighter.  Like I'm the expert - and that's exactly my point.  I'm no expert in the drag game but even I know Willam's look is a little "meh".

And since I'm no expert in the world of drag, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to attend a drag makeup master class.  Seriously.  I met this kid at Jungle last year who told me he wanted to convince his friend (who was not in attendance) to teach drag makeup classes and I said sign me up!  But alas, I haven't heard anything.  Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.  My aunt said to look into talking to the M.A.C. artists but I would only visit the M.A.C. counters of New York or do some research here in Atlanta.  My ideal drag makeup teacher would be Raquel Reed.  I love her.  I adore her.  I think she's ultra fabulous in every singe way possible.  And I think she would be the best one for makeup lessons since...well, she's a real girl and she would be able to help me channel my girliness and keep my makeup to a possible everyday drag look.  She inspired me to have blue hair and now she's making me want to go back to red territory

But seriously though.  Her makeup is always on point and I would love for her to teach me her ways.

I can't wait to get all caught up with the Drag Race girls - especially on that Snatch Game!  I know it's going to be hilarious!
