Lauren and Chandler's Wedding!

 

It happened!  Lauren and Chandler got married and it was BEAUTIFUL!!  I can't wait to see all the shots Megan Saul captured from the event because, naturally, I had such a great time reuniting with friends and enjoying myself that I forgot to take photos.  Ah well...better to live in the moment, right!

Lauren's Bachelorette Party at Lips!

Saturday was Lauren's Bachelorette Party and little did we know that this past weekend was also Pride Weekend in Atlanta!  We celebrated with the fabulous Mr. Charlie Brown and the lovely ladies at Lips!  You know me - I love me some Lips so I was super excited when Lauren suggested it for her party :)

We had such a blast!!  The night was full of dancing, singing (my favorite was a super sexy performance of Drunk In Love) and drinks galore!  Everyone had so much fun and I'm so glad Lauren enjoyed her night!
With all the Bachelorette fun, we didn't experience any Pride festivities :(  Oh well.  Maybe next year?

Adventures in Baking: Enjoy Apple Pie

                  

It has been awhile and if you have been following along on Instagram, you've seen that I'm back in the kitchen!

I was invited to a Labor Day weekend BBQ and I thought to myself, "There's no way I can show up empty-handed! But WTF do I make?!"  Luckily, Craftgawker had me covered.  I saw this cute little #pie pie on my feed a few weeks ago and it just popped into my head: Put a word on it! (lol I'm so funny...)

Anyways - I found this recipe from the Food Network Kitchen and got to work.  My vegetable peeler went missing, so I peeled the apples "Cowboy style", as I called it, with my paring knife and made a pretty little sugary lemon-apple-spice mix.  My kitchen smelled so good!

For the crust, I used the Pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts - which came in handy because I didn't want to make the crust by hand (I will eventually) - and cut off enough excess dough to put a word on it.  But WHAT word could I put on it?  I thought about it so much that I almost did the #pie design but I decided that that wouldn't have been as funny for the party I was going to.  "Enjoy" seemed to be the cutest word for dessert, so I went with that and it was a huge hit!  Everyone loved it!  There were NO leftovers.  None!  I felt really proud of myself and I think that I'm now the "Pie Queen" around there, which kinda rules.

My next attempt will probably be Key Lime, maybe?  We'll see!  Maybe I'll make it back up to Ellijay for the Apple Festival and get some really pretty apples for another pie...

Halloween Shenanigans

I'm a bad blogger!  Things have been so busy at work and at home and they're about to pick up because we're into our *fun* quarterly filming at work now and NaNoWriMo starts TODAY!!
I'm pretty much going to keep going the way I have been for the last few days: work like a crazy person at work and then script write like a crazy person when I get home.  Go, go, go!  My goal is to get my script FINISHED by the end of NaNoWriMo this year.  It's a lofty goal, I know, but I'm hoping that will be the swift kick in the ass that I need to finally get it on paper and out of my head!

We had a party at work and even though it was a little hectic, it was still great to see everyone in costume.  Here are a few highlights that I can safely share:

All in all, the office party was fun but any time we do stuff like this during filming, us crew members don't really get to enjoy it as much as everyone else because we're having to deal with other things.  Oh well...

Good friends and schlocky schweaters

This weekend, our awesome friends (and cutest couple ever) Jen and Nick hosted a Schlocky Schweater Christmas Party which was lots of fun!

Here I was thinking that no one else would have my look but, wouldn't you know it, two other girls showed up with the same sweater vest! Oh well. At least I brought a back up outfit!




Gotta love those Holiday / house warming parties! It was so great seeing Jen and Nick! They're, honestly, the sweetest couple ever.  I was so happy that Jen found a guy to treat her like a princess and Nick is the perfect gentleman.  They're perfect for each other!  I love them so much I wish they didn't live so far away (the drive to their place was just barely under an hour) and I know Jen has an erratic schedule since she still works at the jewelry channel where we reconnected.  It turned out that Jen's ex was "friends" with some of my friends and we crossed paths a few time in high school without even knowing it!  Small world!  That's why I'm so thankful Jen found Nick.  He's wonderful and I love spending time with them.  I wish we could do it more!
We did that thing we always do - we promised to get together more often but you know what?  I want to make good on that promise this time.  After seeing some of the old Movie Night gang, I got really nostalgic and I'm hoping we can get together like we used to!  I love my friends!

DJ Ehyeh - the coolest house DJ you're NOT listening to (jerks!)

When I started working where I currently am now (I can't say where because we had a HUGE meeting about it), I met this wacky, loud-mouthed, dread-locked guy named Aaron. He was the in-house audio master: he recorded all the live audio for the DVDs we make and did the music editing and mixed all the pretty audio files for us to use in our final exports. *sigh* What a guy!
Last year, he told us all he was leaving for Florida to be with his family. By that time, we had become friends and I let him know about my love for techno - especially DnB. As a parting gift, he gave me a bunch of old CD mixes from him and his friends that have gotten pretty heavy play time on my iPod.
Well, he recently moved back to Georgia and he now is set up with our friends: the lovely Wendy and Brad. I go over there from time to time to shoot our interpretive art film that has yet to be named and I occasionally run into Aaron (usually while intoxicated).
I happened to be at Wendy and Brad's last Friday and Aaron bestowed upon me the greatest DVD ever: 17 hours of his own house mixes. 17 hours. Fucking AWESOME. Sadly, my poor little iPod had room for 4 hours only but these 4 hours are amazing and I can't wait to hear the others. It's perfect background music for what I do and it's awesome music to get hype to. I feel like my office has turned into Afterlife and Preston Craig has everyone sweating.
Get your hands on these MP3s (or ask me and I'll pick a random track to burn for you) and get your ass on the dance floor. STAT.
