Wednesday Gif Party!

I'm back on track, baby!

I'll start it off with some Twilight awkwardness for you...

Been watching a lot of Supernatural while I've been sick and it has been GREAT! Now...if I could just catch up to Season 9...

See the gif set here!

I was watching something about the dinosaurs the other day and this feels appropriate

So does this...

Check out these classic movies lines that have been updated for the "Digital Age". It was hard to choose a favorite but this one is pretty up there!

See the gif set here

Here's Traci Lords from Cry-Baby giving me major hair, make-up AND wardrobe envy right now!

Because this is what we're all thinking when we see this, right?

And because I enjoy this so much, I'll share this with you!

And then...there's THIS

Happy Wednesday!

Project Runway: This is For The Birds: The Recap

ZOMG - What in the world was up on the runway last night??? Now I KNOW Heidi & Crew are on drugs! I will not stand for Anya's antics anymore! With all the help she has been getting from everyone else in the workroom, how dare she deny help to Joshua and then try to distinguish it as "tangible" and "intangible" on After the Runway. WTF Anya?! What is wrong with you?!  Don't you realize that the "intangible" help you're receiving is what Joshua said it was - they paid money for that kind of education - which makes it "tangible" for them but not to you?  Who the fuck do you think you are?!  So you learned to sew 4 months prior to the competition.  Good for you.  Do you feel like you should win this because you're making some sort of statement?  The only thing this is showing me is that you're making a mockery of the whole Project Runway franchise.  Sure there have been worse contestants than you BUT they all knew how to construct garments properly.  You just sit there and throw some shit together because you know Heidi and you have some modely companionship going on and it's sickening.

I can deal with the fact that Gretchen won last season because even though her clothes (and her attitude) were shitty, she could still construct the damn outfits without anybody's help.  You send out garments without fasteners and you're constantly asking for construction advice.  Why should you get the win?  You don't deserve any of it.  Everyone else works harder than you because they all know Heidi and Nina have the biggest boners for you.  Your designs are uninspired.  All they look like to me is "Meh, this should be easy construction because I don't know how to make anything else but I'll skew one thing and the judges will think I'm making a new twist on an old design element".  No Anya.

On that note, let's see Anya's Raven inspired outfit:

Congrats on styling your model after your own personal style, btw. As if we couldn't see your extreme narcissism enough already...

She went head-to-head (in a "shocking" runway twist) with Laura:

As far as a head-to-head challenge, Laura did take it too literally but I don't care.  I'd still pick hers over Anya's

Next up: Joshua's parrot inspired outfit

Joshua went head-to-head against Bert (or Birdt LOL):

Taylor Dayne's outfit was in the bottom - even though Heidi liked it.

Heidi, do you realize that every time you praise terrible designs, I grit my teeth so hard that my molars will probably be ground down to nubs by the end of this season?  Good job.

Next up, the Viktor and Kimberly smack down!  Kimberly was unraveling for most of the episode but she finally got it together and decided she was out for BLOOD.  Viktor's to be exact.  She wanted to make it her mission to take him down a few notches and...it worked!

Kimberly's Grecian Goddess silhouette:

Viktor's Grecian Goddess silhouette:

If I had to pick, I'd pick Viktor's over Kimberly because I really like the gathered fabric.  I'd take off the feathers though.  They're making me crazy!  I'd make him molt that dress.  Kimberly's is too Real housewife of Beverly Hills Pageant Night.  Especially with the peek-a-boo boob - or should I say peek-a-boob.  Heeeeyyyooooo!!  I'm on a roll!!  It's my birthday today.  That might be it!  LOL

Anyways - the runway was very upsetting last night but at least they got one thing right - Bert was auf'd.  Bye bye Berty!!  (Ha!)  That After The Runway show was brutal to watch too!  I mean, why the fuck would they bring Laura back to trash on designers she hasn't worked with?  Why did she get all Mommy on Joshua?!  Ugh.  It was a disgusting display of Laura's irritating attitude that made me dislike her on her season.  I thought she was irritating because of her pregnancy but turns out she's just that irritating all the time.  Super...  I stand behind Joshua's comments regarding Anya - even about their friendship or whatever you want to call it - but I especially stand by his comments to Laura B about her shitty ass comments about his attitude.  So what, girl!  You had a pretty terrible attitude about another competitor's construction - remember how you tried to call Jeffrey out on his pleats???  Yeah...you did that.  You almost got him eliminated over some petty ass shit because you were intimidated by him and we all know how that turned out.

Okay - I'm done with this runway drama for today.  I want to start enjoying my birthday!!
Have fun today and I hope to see you all at Pride Atlanta this weekend!
XOXO

Project Runway Season 8 Finale: Um...did I hear you correctly about who won? Are you on drugs?!

Because I've been really busy at work, I haven't been able to talk about the DISASTER that was the Project Runway season 8 finale.

WHAT

THE

FUCK

HAPPENED?

We all thought Mondo had it in the bag, hands down. His runway show was downright fashion current AND fashion forward. So what the hell, Michael Kors? What the hell is wrong with you? This was the first time wearability has been an issue during Fashion Week and as far as I'm concerned, Mondo's was the MOST wearable. Andy's was second. Gretchen will not even be considered. Why? Take a look...

I see Gretchen ovbs thinks granny panties are fashion forward...especially since she used them not once, twice but THREE TIMES

I guess Gretchen was also appealing to Michael Kors' inner Iceman using Aviators in her styling...

These models look like they're about to go on a safari with the rest of the models...

This poor model looks like she's wet herself...

This poor model looks like she's wearing a pair of sparkly diaper shorts...

Not for nothing, I think the jewelry was wonderful. I had a sneaking suspicion that her Mom had made it (since she said her mom made jewelry a few episodes back) but all she said was that she sketched it out and had it forged for her. Remember that sentence

Andy's was such a HUGE departure from what he had been doing all season. It was kind of awesome to see him outside of his comfort zone but it was a little hard to watch because he was outside of his comfort zone. It felt like Andy's collection was damned if you do, damned if you don't. He was damned if he made his signature "Donimatrix" look and he ended up being damned because he didn't make it. I thought it was well thought out but so far away from all his other looks...

I'm not sure how I feel about this look but I do know this: I'm probably the only person who LOVES his headpieces.

This one was a little matronly for my tastes...

Okay - together, this look is blah but could you imagine the top and cropped jacket with some jeans? Adorbs!

I wasn't a big fan of this outfit but this was my favourite headpiece

Okay - we said this outfit looked like a hair tree was growing out of her crotch (we were hoping Kors would say something about the crazy crotch for drinking game reasons but he didn't. And that wasn't the first time Kors let us down that night...) but I guess he minimized the hair tree with a cover up in the same fabric???

Loved it. Simple but still a statement piece

I loved the top here but I could've gone without the pants

Loved it. Very Gossip Girl-ish. Also, my second most favourite headpiece

I liked the weaving on the top but I'm not a fan of that green

Again, not a fan of the green BUT this dress was pretty and I would love to see it in other colours. To me, that would be a fabs little black dress

And last, but certainly not least, Mondo's collection. A lot of his clothing was also very Gossip Girl-ish but I love it all as complete outfits and as separates. I also really like his headpieces. One thing that he made sure to mention was that he made, hand-beaded and screenprinted ALL of his looks himself. To me (as a crafter), that means the world to know that he did all of that himself. It just adds a little something extra knowing that he put in the time and effort for every piece.

This is very Gossip Girl and I would LOVE to see it on the show

Can I just say that I LOVE his painted leather technique?

For my body type, I think I would make a total mess out of this outfit. BUT - if I wore it as separates, total WIN. And I would get more than 1 outfit. Double WIN.

LOVE THIS. Total Gossip Girl

LOVE THIS! If I had the money, I'd commission Mondo to make this dress for me (in my size)

Same thing: If I had the money, I'd commission Mondo to make this dress for me (in my size)

Love the pants. For me, these would be great separates

Again - Loving the painted leather technique AND I really like the "groove is in the heart" polka dot pattern as a shirt

This would look great paired with pants. I'm not daring enough to be able to begin to pull this off as a dress. I love the colours and colour blocking on this little number

Okay - the Lady Miss Kier dress...what can I say about this? I'm not the biggest fan of it but it was very clear that Heidi loved it. In fact, her case for this dress was so strong that we were expecting her to run backstage, rip it off the model and come back to rub it in Kors' and Nina's faces!! I'm half expecting her to go to a red carpet even wearing it sometime soon. If she does, she's my shero

There you have it. The weirdest Project Runway finale I've experienced in a while. I'm not quite sure what else you can say about it - it's one of those things you have to see for yourself...

Until next season!
Love and kisses,

Re-Watching LOST: Season 4

We started season 4 last night and according to the season cheat sheet at Lostpedia, this season is only 14 episodes long. Lame and awesome at the same time.
Lame because it's so short and awesome because it's so short. We'll be able to get through it in a faster amount of time and get to season 5! Why season 5? Because I accidentally read a spoiler (!!!!) concerning the name Jeremy Bentham - which was the name on the newspaper clipping LumberJack was carrying around with him in the final episode of season 3 in a flash forward. Where does the link to the name Jeremy Bentham take you? Oh that's right...to LOCKE'S page! Yeah, that makes a lot of sense seeing as though I don't know who he is yet!!!!
Oh well. I didn't read too far about Locke going under that name except...well...I guess I'll find out later.
We made it to Eggtown (episode 4) and there are a lot of crazy flash forwards happening.

Lowlights:
  • The guy who plays Daniel Faraday (Jeremy Davies) always seems to play that "kooky" character. I have mixed feelings about him...
  • I still don't trust Jack. Sorry, I just don't.
  • SAYID'S fingernails!!!! In the flash forward during The Economist, Sayid straightened out his curly locks (meeeowww!!!), wore something other than his trademark wife beater, was still a killing machine and kept saying he was one of the Oceanic 6. But what was one the of the main things he didn't do? Oh, that's right...cut his fucking nails! Aaaaaanyways....
  • Miles is annoying as FUCK but he's a ghostbuster (perhaps?)
  • Kate and Aaron in the flash forwards. WTF???? BABY STEALER!

Highlights:
  • This isn't really a highlight but it was definitely moving: When Hugo told Claire about Charlie and when he made it a point to remind everyone that Charlie died so they could get some kind of communication off the island.
  • Daniel Faraday being kooky
  • Miles is a ghostbuster!
  • The team from the freighter is on the hunt for Ben (getting closer to some answers!!)
  • LANCE REDDICK!!!! (Also known as Philip Broyles from my other favourite show, Fringe)
  • Charlie slapping Hugo at the mental hospital (this was kind of adorbs)

And that's about it. It's still early enough in the season to not really have a lot of highs/lows. There are many questions (of course) and I'm eagerly awaiting for The Constant (which I'm pretty sure we'll watch tonight because it's episode 5). I accidentally saw a spoiler photo from this episode and I've been hearing people say "I'm your constant" or "You're my constant" since this season aired. I'm guessing it's the equivalent to Avatar's "I see you", I suppose. Either way, it's a fucking catch phrase and I want to know why.

EDIT: Apparently, the whole Constant thing involves Desmond (and Penny probably)

Until next time...
