For our viewing pleasure...

THE FINAL SEASON OF LOST!!

The old man and I were tired of waiting for Netflix to send us the final season so we ended up borrowing it from the library. It was like, we'd go the mailbox and get every other movie/show DVD from our queue EXCEPT for LOST and it got to the point where we had waited long enough. There was too large a gap between Season 5 and 6.
When we started watching it, we were only slightly lost (zing!) but we got back on track fairly quickly. I particularly like how Ricardo is all, "We're in Hell! We're already dead!" - which makes Ab Aeterno one of my favourite episodes so far. I've been waiting forever to figure out Ricardo's story since he's immortal and all. And of course his story would involve a woman. BUT - if his wife died and he was so desperate to be with her, why did he want to live forever? Wouldn't he want to die so he could be with his wife in the afterlife/spirit realm?
I'm a little concerned about Sideways World too. I mean, WTF? I'm glad my faves (Boone, Charlie) have come back - in a way - but what's up with that? Is it what could have been? Is it what was supposed to happen without Jacob interfereing? Is it what was supposed to happen instead of crashing (and dying) on the island?!
My fave part about Bizarro World - James as a hot cop. Meeeeeooowww. Too bad Charlotte was there. Can you tell I don't like her? Meh. At least she's less annoying than Juliet. But I'm also wondering - is Faraday coming back? One can only hope...
We're only 9 episodes in and I know it's only going to get weirder. Good thing I've already seen the finale! And The Final Journey (where they pretty much admitted they were making it up as they went along). I'm just waiting for the pieces to fall together and right now, I'm agreeing with Ricardo - they're dead and they're in Hell. I'm preeettty sure that's what it is.
The countdown is on...
LAX: Parts 1 & 2
What Kate Does
The Substitute
Lighthouse
Sundown
Dr. Linus
Recon
Ab Aeterno
The Package

Happily Ever After
Everybody Loves Hugo
The Last Recruit

Across the Sea

The Project Runway Finale: Part 1

OMG you guys! It happened! Michael C finally came out!!!!!! We all knew he wasn't fooling anyone! I'm so happy he finally did it!! I don't know why he was fronting saying he has a wife and kid. ZOMG! I respect him even more for that! Hooray for Michael C - in that regard because he was Auf'd last night. *Tear*

Let me just say that I cannot believe Gretchen was accepted to go to Fashion Week after Mondo. WHAT. THE. FUDGE. POPSICLES. But it would've added insult to injury on Michael C if he and Gretchen were the two on the bottom instead of him and Andy.

BUT STILL...Gretchen?!

Let's check out the looks, shall we?

Let's start with Andy.
I really love this playsuit. The shorts are adorbs but I'm not so sure about the ruffles on top. The headpieces? LOVE THEM. Don't judge me. I love the "space queen"/fairy look they have. Cute.

This was the hotly debated "throw away" fairy princess look the judges were having a hard time with. I agree with them - it's a throw away piece when you look at it with the other two pieces but I'm sure in the whole collection, it could work(?).

The surprise third look. You knew there was a twist and this time, it did not involve the Velvet Bag of Terror. This look is great BUT I am not loving the colour. It's a little too much for me.

Next up: Wretched - I mean Gretchen.
I don't like her and I don't like these designs. They're so strange and off-putting. The only thing I'm excited about as far as Gretchen's show is concerned is the jewelry. That is all.

Next up: Michael C.
I really like the Grecian Goddess he taps into for the surprise third look. It's flowy, ethereal and straight out of something from my daydreams of being on Mount Oympus

I think I could picture Serena Vanderwoodsen in this outfit right here. LOVES IT! I was thinking about different colour combinations for this dress and I got way too carried away. I would LOVE to have this dress!

Okay - can I just say that I'm in LOVE with this top?!?!?!!!!! It's so strange and there's no way I could ever pull it off but I'm in love with the tassels and the movement in it. I love the pants too. I think they're great separates.

And last but certainly not least - MONDO!
The surprise third look looks like it came straight out of Blair Waldorf's closet. I would own this skirt in every colour combination available.

Dee-lectible! Dee-gorgeous! Dee-groovy! The Dee Lite Lady Kier dress! It would've scared me if it had been a catsuit. MEEEOOWWW!

Another successful Gossip Girl-type look. LOVES IT, MONDO!!

I cannot wait until the Finale Part 2 next week! I only have one frowny face (besides Michael C getting auf'd) and that's WHY IN THE FUDGE POPSICLES IS JESSICA SIMPSON THE GUEST JUDGE???!!! WHY???? Maybe it was her boobs that got her the job...I don't know. I would've preferred Christian Siriano as guest judge for Fashion Week. Or pretty much anybody else except Jessica Simpson. Why not Blake Lively? Why not Leighton Meester? Why not David LaChapelle? Why not anybody else? Was Jess the only one available? Oh well.

For the Finale Part 2, Lauren, Geoff and I will be under the SAME ROOF watching and blogging together! I'm so excited I want us to do a live webcam feed but I might be the only one jazzed about that...

Anyways - until next week!! Be sure to Rate the Runway and catch us LIVE for the Finale Part 2!! We'll have the champagne chilled for when Mondo wins because, I mean, who else but Mondo right?! Mondo forever!!

Love and kisses,

Project Runway: There's A Pattern Here - Recap

OMG! I missed Project Runway last night to see Wavves at Drunken Unicorn and lo and behold - it was the MOST emotional episode all season!! I spent my time wisely during the opening acts to check Twitter like a maniac trying to decode Project Runway's mysterious tweets and texting Lauren frantically about what was going on. After an exhilarating show, I came home, crashed for a measly few hours of sleep, woke up crazy early to use my personal day for what it was intended for: to renew my driver's license. Exciting, I know.
The rest of the day was a sleepy fog followed by being scolded by Lauren for not having watched last night's episode. So I got myself a sandwich cozied up to my trusty laptop and watched. On the Lifetime website, there was a banner that said "Show your support for Mondo". Hmmm. What could've possibly been wrong with Mondo? Crazy medical bill for a sick family member? Maybe he was sick? Does he have cancer? Does he have a rare disease that's crazy expensive to take care of? I didn't want to think HIV/AIDS because to me, that's the most terrible - more so than other diseases. AIDS has affected my family twice in the past - when it was still a taboo illness and it was really hard to deal with both instances in my life so I never assume it's AIDS because it's one of those things you never want to think about affecting anyone because of it's impact.
But as it turns out, I was right - Mondo's HIV positive. When he first revealed that in his side interview, the tears came. And on the runway, when Nina was asking him what the inspiration was behind his print, I thought he was very classy in being vague about his pattern choice but I had a feeling it was going to come out eventually. I will say that his outfit was beautiful - as always. His ability to mix prints is amazing!

I'll admit, Gretchen's pattern was pretty but the outfit was SO boring! I could see the squash blossom / sun bonnet style since I'm familiar with jewelry from the South West but the outfit was drab and boring. Thankfully, she didn't do that chevron shape that she normally does...

April's pattern was pretty but I think the long sleeve lost me with the shortness of the skirt. Her fabric geometry is fabs, though. I love it!

I appreciated Michael C's print because of the Evil Eye aspect. That's very Spanish of him and I loved it! I thought the print was awesome! The outfit had a very distinctive design and I can appreciate the architectural aspect of it but I didn't really like the yellow piping. Other than that, it was very sharp and I liked geometry with the print.

Amidst all the drama on the runway, my gal Val was eliminated. *sad face* I love Valerie!! Her look was always so mod and currently vintage - in a way. And she had the best, perkiest attitude out of all of the designers. Her exit was the classiest, most thoughtful exit EVER!! I love how she apologized for badmouthing and how she expressed her extreme gratitude for being there and sharing her experiences with the designers. I thought that was so classy and so diplomatic. She was so gracious and so wonderful and I will definitely miss her!!

Next week looks like there's a possibility of that bloodbath we've been waiting on since Heidi will be their client. Oi vey. I can only imagine what kind of workroom antics will happen with Heidi walking around and judging their works in progress before they go through their many incarnations before hitting the runway. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Until next time, you can relive last night's emotional episode here or rate the runway here. Go Mondo!! <3
