shelovesyoublog.tumblr.com

We've started a Tumblr!
She Loves You And So Do I is a tumbleblog now!
Now, why a Tumbleblog you ask? Well, it's more for "short form" blogging. I like it because I can do quickie posts during my (short) downtimes AND I can post a photo to, let's say...mine and Lala's outing to The Glamour at MJQ last Saturday and link it to the photo album on my FB page!
Pretty sweet, huh?
I mean, I know it's not that big of a deal and it will probably turn into something extra to manage along with this page but it's totally worth it.
If you happen to have a Tumblr, feel free to follow us!

Adventures in Babysitting - Day 1

okay, okay - so my mom has this friend who's a single mom and because of her job, she travels. A lot. When Miss Single Mom travels out of state, I get the pleasure of staying with her daughter overnight until her mom gets back.
Sounds harmless, no? It's not.
My little ray of sunshine just turned 16. She also hates it when I say "babysitting" because I'm not really babysitting - which I'm not. I just stay with her at night in case something happens and she's not alone. Perfectly understandable. I mean, I don't have to do anything except take her to the store when she needs to go and be home when she gets back from soccer practice / games.
BONUS: Her mom's bed is AWESOME.
I'm not one of those babysitters that demand control of the TV or talk on the phone or stay away from the kid. I mean, I know she's self-sufficient since she's 16 and all but I still make myself available in case she wants to tell me how her school day went - which she always does - or if she has problems with the homework she's (not) doing.
Well, since I let her control the TV, she chooses to put on Disney Channel. And usually, the programs that are on are: The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Sonny With A Chance , Wizards of Waverly Place and, of course, everyone's favourite pop star show: Hannah Montana. Now, I've come to know and love these shows - including iCarly (which comes on Nickelodeon - but we watch that occasionally too). Well, since I had to stay with her yesterday (Sunday), the show roster was off and since she doesn't watch The Simpsons, Family Guy or American Dad (WTF?! She's 16!!), we had it on Disney Channel, where I watched "Sonny With A Chance" for the first time (and kinda enjoyed it *GASP*). But there was a little movie called Dadnapped that came on - which we watched, of course.
I got into it, of course, because my fave Disney Channel stars were in it! Emily Osment (Hayley Joel Osment's lil sis), David Henrie, ect...but I also noticed that the guy who plays Jackson on "Hannah Montana" was playing a hotel manager. No big deal, right? Wrong! I was telling my sleepover buddy that I found it odd that Jackson would be playing an older guy. She told me that he's around 24-25 years old in real life. *GASP!* What? No! There's no way! WAY. In fact, Jackson will be 31 in April. 31. Hannah's brother, who is supposedly a Junior in high school, is 3 years OLDER than I am.

Needless to say, my sleepover buddy got TOTALLY creeped out but I let it go. I mean, he's on a hit TV show / franchise. And he IS getting paid, right?
Awesome.

Dear Kenley, WTF?!

Kenley,
Out of all the contestants you were my FAVOURITE on Project Runway: Season 5 but what's all this then? You threw a cat at your fiance? And a laptop?! I knew you had a bit of a sour attitude at times (which was why you're awesome) but seriously, WTF?! I just can't believe it! But you know what? I still ♥ you because you're my girl. You didn't take shit from anyone and you did your own thing and I could tell that you'd fight for your friends (if it came down to it) and I respect you for it. And even though everyone was all frowny face about your attitude as Season 5 progressed, I was TEAM KENLEY all the way!!
You still rock my face off and I'm sure your (ex)boy probably deserved it. Or maybe it was that time of the month and he unknowingly set off the WRONG trigger. Hell, maybe you have an EXTREME case of PMDD (because Lord knows I do...) It could have been ANYTHING! Who knows? Maybe you're sorry about it. Maybe not.

I will say this, Gawker's headline is correct: An important movement has begun (in the spirit of L'il Kim and Paris and all the other kids):

We ♥ you Kenley!!

ED NOTE: This entry makes me feel bad now because we ALL know Tim Gunn is a saint and what he says is true. What he says in the AP clip makes me sad and disappointed with Kenley BUT I still support her! We all have our own ways in expressing ourselves and if hers was acting a little childish, oh well. For some people, that's all they know: Negative attention is better than no attention at all.

St. Patrick's Day Part 1 - The 'Corning

So, I was taking a stroll on my twitter while I was uploading the footage that will forever haunt my dreams when I stumbled upon a link to Cornify's Vision for 2015.
Now, everyone must know (if they don't by now) that I ♥ unicorns. And sparkly things. And rainbows. And the most awesome person EVER made that available for us to share with Cornify. (We also have a Cornify button on this very blog! *GASP!*)
ANYWAYS - I hardly ever do "@Replies" on Twitter because it doesn't notify you when someone replies to you, so I've missed a bunch of "@_Katzi_" replies. (Sorry!) But I guess today was different because I had a little "@Reply" convo with Bobby and then I saw the link to Cornify's 2015 vision. I decided I would take a chance and "@Reply" to Cornify - not really expecting an "@Reply" back. BUT to my surprise, I got one!
I know, I know - it's not really that serious but I just wanted to express that Cornify's "@Reply" was the happiest part of my day (so far)! I haven't really been myself lately and apparently, it's noticable. BUT Cornify's "@Reply" has given me the boost that I need to keep moving and to keep Operation Cornification Phase 2: The Re-Corning on track!

So, thank you, Cornify! You have made my day that much better!

Here's a bonus unicorn in case you need a little extra! And feel free to cornify this entry. You'll be glad you did! I promise!!!

Rainbows and sparkles for everyone!!!

There is no reason to watch Rock of Love Bus now...

I ♥ my VH1 "Celebreality" shows:
Rock of Love Bus
Tool Academy
The Pick Up Artist
Tough Love
The list could go on (and it totally does) but I was all about my Rock of Love Bus! And my Rock of Love Bus girls! My faves were: Brittanya, Gia (whose too hot for TV antics were THE BEST but they were also why she only lasted the first episode), Marcia, Farrah, and Mindy. But my fave girl of all was Ashley!!!!!!!! (And I'm not the only one...)
She had the best sound bites in EVERY promo for the show. I feel like she would have the best time out with me and the girls if she ever came to Atlanta to party!
Ashley rules my face off! Everything about her is awesome! She's the absolute best! But, sadly, she got the axe last night along with my girl Brittanya as shown on the elimination/challenge status flow chart here. I will say that it was totally unnecessary of Bret to f*cking throw her pass to the ground! WTF was up with that?! I guess he was upset because he really liked her. I know I would have been but I understand that she has many unresolved emotional issues with her baby daddy.
Now I have no reason to watch the rest of the show at all. None. I was Team Ashley all the way but...Team Mindy? I guess. Oh well.

Become a music producer today!

So, let's say you've decided to become a music producer.
Your inspiration is Daft Punk.
All your beats are based off of Daft Punk.
You rap over Daft Punk. *cough*kanyewest*cough*
You want to make music for the updated Tron movie like Daft Punk.
You wear a helmet.
So why don't you...Daft Punk-erize your sh*t!
Use your keyboard and Garage Band to make some sick beats to get all the kids moving.
Hell, use this drumset along with the Daft Punk console! That track now has BILLION DOLLAR potential.
Don't forget to throw some Songsmith in there for TRILLION DOLLAR potential!

But please, no more "learn-to-do-this-type-of-dance" songs.
I was amused by Do Da Stanky Legg yesterday and that's about all I can handle.

I would play with this all day if I didn't have to work. And if I was aspiring to be a music producer. (But I'm not...or am I???)

Barbie turns 50 today!

Barbie was "born" on this day in 1959
Barbie is officially a cougar, everybody! And to honour this momentous occasion, here are a few things that have happened or are happening to celebrate this blondie's birthday.
  • There was a fashion show at this year's Fashion Week (FIERCE)
  • Jonathan Adler designed her a real life Malibu dream home (DOUBLE FIERCE)
  • Jonathan Adler gave a cute interview about designing for Barbie
  • There is an original Andy Warhol portrait of Barbie valued at over $200,000 in her mansion (TRIPLE FIERCE)
  • There is also a chandelier designed by "Project Runway" contestant Chris March that's made up of over 30 blond wigs (TRIPLE FIERCE)
  • NPR reported the story of the Barbie Dream Home (QUADRUPLE FIERCE)
  • There will be a HUGE party at her dream home in Malibu TONIGHT! (FIERCE X's INFINITY!!)

Happy Birthday Barbie!
Even though you have given girls an unrealistic view of how their bodies should look (throughout the years), you're still FIERCE as hell! Let's hope for another 50+ years of awesome clothes, great careers and fabulous accessories!

I'm in Atlanta Bitch

So for the past 2 weeks I was without internet. Didn't think I missed much but the one thing I couldn't do was download all the new tracks that Atlanta's very talented musicians have to offer.

Case in point: I'm In Atlanta Bitch by DJ Smiles feat. Niko Villamor, 080 (T!Katz), and Gripplyaz. Granted, it's a remix of I'm In Miami Bitch by LMFAO but it goes much harder than the original. Ok, ok maybe I'm a little biased being from the A so I sat and listened to both the tracks back to back and made an honest and informed decision: I'm In Atlanta Bitch is the shit. End of story. Listen for yourself.

Office Romance: Part 1

So, I have a lot of toys in my office to liven up the place. You know, to make it...cute. I'd go crazy if there wasn't something to look at or take a break with by rearranging them. Wouldn't you? (Yes, yes you would)
Well, you know those old folkloric tales about how garden gnomes come to life? I think mine (whose name happens to be Conan 'The Gnomen' O'Brien) runs around my office after the building is locked down for the night. Not just the gnome but all the toys! I've got other office friends that love to play around!
But GASP! When I saw this:

I knew there was something more happening with Conan and Lolita Hello Kitty! It may look all innocent to you but I heard those "sweet nothings" he was whispering in her ear and they were NOT PG, my friends! That was some serious TV-MA, MPAA: Rated NC-17, ESRB Rated M for Mature stuff right there! Oh Conan! And oh Lolita Hello Kitty! I expected some sort of naughtiness out of you but not this!
That's okay, though. I just don't want my glow in the dark unicorn romantically lighting their dates while building is locked up. I would normally say "Get a room" in this kind of situation but they are in a room...Okay, well, they could keep it away from the other kids! Or maybe it's one giant toy orgy happening in my office every night and throughout the weekends. Oh dear.

The saga continues...

Thanks Radar Online

Probably the GREATEST thing to take with you to EVERY party you go to.

EDITOR'S NOTE: This post was originally on my Livejournal and I have decided to re-post it (even though it's a little outdated...) BUT the ♥ for the item that I'm talking about is still the same.
**************************************
Let me start from the beginning.

Saturday, December 20, 2008 started quite horribly.
First, I woke up retardedly early after going to sleep fairly late after abandoning all hope of drinking with a friend.

Then, the old man and I went to the mall. Suburban mall life isn't as fun as I remember it. Anyways - that sh*tty mall experience put us in sh*ttier moods. Not to mention the old man was already upset because he had to buy a gift for his company's yearly "White Elephant" gift X-Mas party and Toys for Tots and his Secret Santa victim: ME.
I had a much harder task with my Secret Santa victim: MY MOM.

While we argued our way through Target, we ended up in the toy section. I was reminded of this when we were making our way through the toys. I had seen it before and I thought it only played songs and it did that sh*tty microphone thing where it didn't really amplify your voice - it just looked like a mic that happened to play songs louder than your voice.
Anyways - I decided that I needed one. VERY BADLY. That was the only way my day was going to get amazing.
But sadly, they only had this one. And that was NOT going to perk up my day. We started to curse the North Point Target until we realized there was another one we could go to.

It was a gift from The Gods!
But wait! My old man found the microphones before me and alerted me that there were no more Brobees. I wanted to scream. As loud as I could. But I couldn't. My chest started hurting, my heart started palpitating and tears stood in my eyes. This day was FUBAR'd. I couldn't go down like that. F*ck no! So what do I do? I go back to the aisle with the Yo Gabba Gabba! microphones and look again. Sure, Muno was in the front. I almost gave up. But then, like a beacon of hope (that I thought I had abandoned), there it was! My Yo Gabba Gabba! Brobee Microphone!!!! Of course I snatched it up! I read the back of the package - just to emphasize the point to my old man and saw "voice amplifier" in the description. The tears of sorrow had turned into tears of joy! Ultimate joy! My old man rolled his eyes, of course.

After making the greatest purchase known to man, I took it out of the package and turned it on. It was amazing. And it was then, after hearing my voice being amplified through this magical device, that I would use it at my friends' going away party.

I made so many people smile (read: annoyed)! There was even a video taken of me with my Brobee mic! How wonderful! Circle of Death was even more fun than normal - all because of my mic!

Thank you, Yo Gabba Gabba! Brobee Microphone! You truly are the greatest gift of all.
(Toodee microphone to join my arsenal very VERY soon on the account of Toodee being my God-Daughter's fave character. I know it exists. It was pictured on the directions for the Brobee mic...)

When I Was Your Age...

The folks over at Buzz Feed pointed me in the direction of a website where you can see what others accomplished when they were your age. The Buzz Feed entry said "Prepare to feel bad about yourself" (or something along those lines...) but I think I lucked out with a bunch of really good ones. Although there was a submission from Buzz Killington there at the end that was a downer but whatevs.

Here's mine:
