#YOLOCABIN2014

North Georgia WeekendAdventures on the Cartecay #YOLOCABIN2014North Georgia WeekendA little Canadian whiskey for the Cabin Fever! #YOLOCABIN2014 #cabinfever There's nothing quite like sitting by the river this early in the morning and listening to the sweet sounds of...leaf blowers?  North Georgia Weekend North Georgia Weekend North Georgia Weekend

After a pretty intense personal thing, I desperately needed an escape.  Luckily, my friends and I had scheduled this little cabin getaway well in advance of my personal thing, so it was a welcome relief when it finally came around!
We booked a little cabin on the Cartecay River in Ellijay, GA with the hopes of non-stressful kayaking, resting and boosts to our creativity and we got just that - except that maybe the kayaking was a little stressful (due to low water levels)...W and I tethered our kayaks together, which probably made it a little more cumbersome but we had fun getting stuck on river rocks and being thrown around by (very light) rapids.  The boys were in their element, though, and came to our rescue every time we couldn't lodge ourselves out from the rocks!  It was really quite fun but the hot tub was even better!
I also found a half gallon (HEEEYYYOOO) bottle of Cabin Fever whiskey (appropriate, I must say), which made really great Whiskey Gingers AND a beautiful syrup (with fresh fruits) for waffles the next morning!  So good!
We even had time to brainstorm ideas and skits for upcoming projects!  AND I let go of everything personal by sticking to the hashtag I gave the trip: #YOLOCABIN2014.  I even wrote it on the tag van we hitched a ride with at the end of our kayaking adventure and I put it in the guest book that I just HAD to sign!  Fun times!

Vegetable Tattoo Prank!

Tattly temporary tattoos

Guh!  I'm such a space cadet lately!  Between looking for an apartment (long story), work, and everything else, I spaced on telling you all what those Tattlys were for!  I ordered veggie tattoos from Tattly for a prank that went over swimmingly!

Okay - some backstory: one of my co-workers gets a tattoo every year on his birthday.  His most recent was an artichoke.  Thinking it represented his (fairly new) Veganism, I asked what it was all about.  It had NOTHING to do with him being Vegan or sustainability or anything - it had to do with one of my favorite things: Sacred Geometry!  The artichoke represents the Fibonacci Spiral - the closest thing to perfect in nature.  You might be familiar with it if you read The DaVinci Code...or watch Ancient Aliens...or Spirit Science!

In an attempt to poke fun (in a light-hearted way), I ordered the veggies a little too late so we had to wait for the next filming cycle to come around so that we could execute it perfectly.

A few weeks ago, the production crew and I picked out our vegetables, tatted ourselves up and came up with silly (and meaningful) representations for the most hilarious prank!

Only one of these vegetable tattoos is real...

So clever, aren't we?!  Here are our tattoos in left to right order (with their "meanings") :
Jeremiah -> Tomato: It represents the cosmos
Brad D. -> Artichoke: The Fibonacci Spiral and Golden Mean
Brad T. -> Eggplant: It represents the Pythagorean Theorem
Tom -> Corn: It represents that you have to peel back the layers to reveal what's inside
Mark -> Carrot: It represents Mu, the coefficient of friction (that one was amazing!)
Katzi -> Radish: It represents the duality of male and female

Needless to say, Brad was delighted!  He even declared it the "biggest burn of 2014".  I even had other office members sport their veggies throughout the week to let it drag out as long as possible.  Ha!  At least we know we can poke fun and it's all out of love!  :)

Happy Thursday!

Secret Project Revealed!

Behind the scenes Behind the scenes

So...remember in March when I posted about a secret project?  Well - the secret is out!  I got to operate camera for the Russell Wilson workout that was released on the Xbox Fitness channel last Friday!  The company I work for has other workouts through Xbox Fitness already but this one was, by far, the BIGGEST!
All the stress aside, it was a fun two days.  I mean, watching the set being built, the lighting rig go up, wardrobe...everything production-wise still excites me, no matter how many times I've seen it before.  There's just something so fun about watching crews make it happen because sometimes we all forget how many people it actually takes to complete the illusion that we know as "movie magic".

If you've got an Xbox One, try out the Athlete Fit with Russell Wilson workout and let me know how you like it!  During the R+D phase for it, I took it as many times as possible here at the office, and let me tell you - it's NOT easy but it IS fun!  And believe me, it goes by really fast and you'll feel so much better for it :)

Happy Tuesday!

**SPOILER ALERT: Russell Wilson is extremely nice :)

Incoming Mail + Blog Break

Untitled Untitled

I finally made the sign up deadline for the wonderful Pet Parade Box from Lucky Dip Club!! Everything about it was awesome!!!  We were asked to tell Leona what our favorite animal was and because I love me some mythological creatures, I said my favorite animal is the unicorn but if I had to stay with "real" animals, dolphins are my favorite.  To my surprise, the cute little celebration balloon had BOTH my favorite animals!  Score!  This was such a treat to receive in the mail and I can't wait for the Think Happy Ice Cream Parlour box for next month!  I have gotten so many compliments on the kittens in a basket necklace (you can kinda see it in the middle photo next to the balloon), so I can't wait to see what the Ice Cream Party will have in store!  Be sure you sign up for the newsletter so you can order yours before they sell out - and they sell out SUPER FAST!

The other sweet meal treat was my cute little package from Fashionology.  I took advantage of a pretty big sale to get my hands on two gorgeous rings: Malachite and Lapis Lazuli.  Once I took the box out of the packaging sleeve, I could immediately feel the intense love!  I grabbed some Sage and put them to work.  The Lapis really spoke out to me and kind of prompted my little (BIG) life change...

With that said - I'm sorry for the blog hiatus but there are some important bits of life happening right now and I think I need to focus my energies there.  I won't be posting much for a little bit but I hope you'll understand that I need this time.  Things are aligning, there are some scary (but awesome) things on the horizon and I think I just need to take a breather so that I don't live in a constant panic mode.

Happy Friday and I hope you all have a magical weekend!
