Halloween Shenanigans

I'm a bad blogger!  Things have been so busy at work and at home and they're about to pick up because we're into our *fun* quarterly filming at work now and NaNoWriMo starts TODAY!!
I'm pretty much going to keep going the way I have been for the last few days: work like a crazy person at work and then script write like a crazy person when I get home.  Go, go, go!  My goal is to get my script FINISHED by the end of NaNoWriMo this year.  It's a lofty goal, I know, but I'm hoping that will be the swift kick in the ass that I need to finally get it on paper and out of my head!

We had a party at work and even though it was a little hectic, it was still great to see everyone in costume.  Here are a few highlights that I can safely share:

Best camera operator / friends forever - Brad (Gold Prospector), me (Fionna) and Jeremiah (Robin)
I was trying to figure out poses all day and this one seemed like the best one :)
My niece Amaya as the Skylander "Hex" (I dubbed this photo "only in New York...")
Heather as Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's (of course!)
Bobby as Paul Bunyan (with Babe the Blue Ox)
Hugh and Lisa as a couple of tourists
And the office party WINNERS: Kristin and Natalie as the Hump Day Camel

You will be missing out if you don't watch THIS VIDEO of Eric's (our audio engineer) costume!!!

**EDIT: Here's the YouTube video:

All in all, the office party was fun but any time we do stuff like this during filming, us crew members don't really get to enjoy it as much as everyone else because we're having to deal with other things.  Oh well...

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

Afternoon Pick-Me-Up

While this weekend was a sad one, it also perked up some.  In order to distract myself from the terrible weather and Justin's passing, I...cooked?  That's right - I made stuff.  And I'm surprising myself by keeping up with She Loves You Fit Blog!  I guess it's pretty easy since I have it attached to She Loves You Blog on the Tumblr app on my phone...
I'm also keeping up with my new Vanity Plates blog!  I've gotten a few Tumblr submissions and lots more texted / emailed to me for posting and I love it!  I hope you guys love it, too!  Follow it!  Promote it!  Submit your own!!  Funny enough, the MOST reblogged tag has been this one.  Aww!

I also found out that Nathan Williams Instagrammed one of my photos!!!

Crazy, right?!  Does that make us friends now??  Just kidding (but seriously...are we?!?!??)

I also added music to the funniest gif I've seen in a while on Tumblr.

I mean...it just FIT, you know?  The song, the gif, the suit, the dance...It was meant to be.  Don't worry - there will be more...

Also - did you hear: Yahoo! bought Tumblr.  This should be interesting...or not.  (I'm hoping not that way everything stays the same)

Happy Halloween!

After putting it out there that I was going to be Marceline, the Put a Bird On It folks or recycling a costume or two from last year...for this year's Halloween, I've been struck by costume gold.
I had seen the trailer already but it came and went like the changing of seasons.
What am I talking about?  The movie GOLD that is THE FP.
Oh, you don't know what I'm talking about?  Educate yourself

That's right - a post apocalyptic Dance Dance Revolution movie. Fuck. Yes.
Yes, I played the game and yes, I like to think I was pretty good but my brother can THROW DOWN just as well as JTRO and the rest of The FP crew.  So?  Mix a little happy hardcore and hard dance from my trusty Digitally Imported app + part of my Killjoys outfit and BOOM - instant FP costume!

This is all I can show...for now. The rest will come later.  We have 2 rehearsals before the little office party starts.
Too bad I didn't share this gem with my coworkers earlier. It would've made an AMAZING group costume.

What are you going to be today?!

UPDATE:
This happened

And here's a quick peek at my costume

Major fangirling right now! Too bad I have a 6a call time tomorrow or else I'd go to Lala's party and share in the fun. Oh well. Maybe next year?

Since the old man doesn't particularly like coffee, there's been no need to ever get a coffee maker but my mom's cousin remembered that I really REALLY liked coffee from the reunion trip so she sent me some. Since I didn't own a brewer or need a large one, my mom and I settled on this reasonably priced French Press.  Yes, I made a mess - I wouldn't be me if I hadn't.  It turns out that what I really need is a percolator so...I'm on the hunt!

Air Sex - It's Serious Business (NSFW)

I was on a sexy roll yesterday, apparently.  After I wrote my saucy sonnet, I couldn't help but feel obligated to go to the Air Sex Championships.  After I saw Gingersnap's post about it last week, I declared I was going but on my way home from work yesterday afternoon, I wasn't feeling so into it.  Why?  I don't know.  My stomach was a little upset from work stress and I feel like I have an ulcer brewing but after thinking about it, I decided I'd go.  My inner drama kid was begging me to go!  I mean, when would I get another chance to see that?!   My old man said probably next year but I wanted to add this to my list of weird things I've seen and/or done as soon as possible!  No, I didn't participate even though I could have since they were encouraging folks to.  I didn't want to take the chance of looking like a fool, you know, with me being a novice to this whole arena as a spectator.  Either way, it was wildly entertaining and I loved it!  Some performers were better than others but the standout was Johnny West - crowned Atlanta's champion last night.
The rules are simple: for your first performance, you get to pick your own song and you have to perform simulated sex on your imaginary partner or partners.  If you get chosen to move on to the next round, you are given a secret mystery song picked by one of the judges.

I tried to take videos of all the performers but my camera battery died, so here's two iPhone videos (for now)

More photo shenanigans

This woman was big bumpin' at the Resurgens Orthopaedics office when I was getting my knee checked out
The higher the hair...

I felt like this was a good witch house album cover (maybe not)
Capes / Drapes / Gowns

I had some spare hearts leftover after I made Cassie's card so I made my old man a banner for when he came back!
Welcome home!
PS - he loved it!

I got this cute lil macaroon at Whole Foods on our way to Athens

I kept imagining a front yard production of Phantom of the Opera happening at some point this weekend...
Looks like our neighbors are rehearsing for their front yard production of "Phantom of the Opera"
I hope they dry it off - it was rained on all weekend!

While I was in the longest line I've seen at Chipotle in a long time, there was this woman who held us all up by not only stopping her order to talk to the teenage umpire (pictured below) about some scary parents she had to call the cops on at some game they were all at but she also had, like, a billion orders she needed from the Chipotle crew. First world problems I know, but damn she was rude!
WPP about some weird parents VS teen refs at little league games SMH

I wouldn't have been so upset if she hadn't been so rude. Ugh. And the kid she was talking to was funny because he rolled his eyes every time she turned her back but he put on this cute, All-American smile when she faced him. Nicely done kid!

Draw Something!

Like most of the world's population, I've started playing Draw Something.  I held off from joining because I already play Charadium but by comparison, Charadium isn't as fun....Sorry!  I like Charadium's layout better but Draw Something is more accessible, I guess because of the FB Connect feature.  And on the Ping Pong feature on Charadium, I've been getting a lot of creeps lately.  Not good.  With Draw Something at least I know I'm playing with my friends.  And because I'm playing on my iPad, I feel like I have quite the advantage.  I don't think I could ever play on my phone!  That's way too small for my fat fingers!  And I have an extra advantage of playing using my stylus.  Double win.
I'm not the greatest artist.  I left that to my brother (who I would LOVE to play with but he doesn't have the app).  But over the course of playing, I feel as though I'm getting a little better each time!  That depends on the word of course.  Sometimes I get shitty words and have to settle.  Other times I luck out and get great words.  Here are some of my "best" works:

My Twilight section, apparently

Not gonna lie, this is where I started feeling a little more confident with my abilities.  I mean, my Aladdin and Jasmine are pretty on point < sarcasm / >

I was really proud of the Woody I drew for my old man (yeah, that sounds terrible) but he guessed it before I even started drawing the details of the hat!  Lame.  But it is kind of boring to sit through the whole process if you already know what it is, right?  I guess.  I'm definitely not as good as the people featured here but I'm not as terrible as I was!

Are you on Draw Something?  Send me your username!

Conversations With Friends: "The List"

While Double D was in town, we had what started as a very lighthearted conversation that quickly turned into a full on debate. It also made me realize how easily I get infatuated - especially when it comes to guys.

We were talking about "The List". You know, the list of celebs you can get a free pass with. Everyone had a pretty normal list. And by "normal" I mean "short". Except me. My list is a very long one. Maybe it reflects what my Mom used to tell me when I was younger: "You love everybody" or maybe it reflects the fickle nature of society and how easily we can be swayed. Meh - maybe I really do love everybody.
Like I said, my list is looooooooong. And I didn't really start thinking about it again until one of my old man's friends put this as her status update: It was (again) brought to my attention yesterday, that I have weird celebrity crushes. Who's the oddest celebrity you have a crush on? I replied: I don't know if I should put my old man on blast with this...lol. Maybe I should because my list is endless (& I have no shame ). It's true.

My list is pretty harmless but I do have the weird ones in there. Well, maybe not really "weird" but more quirky, I guess? I don't know. But I did think about this during last week's conversation (while I rattled name after name off for Double D to keep track of): if I had to narrow it down to a Top Ten, who would be on this list?

In no particular order, I followed Lauren's lead with the most obvs on the list: Ryan Gosling. Then my old man filled in a few parts - Jude Law, that guy from Glee (he was talking about Darren Criss), Ewan McGregor, that guy from Spartacus. He's referring to Manu Bennett. And yes, I think Manu Bennett is quite attractive and all but I prefer him as Crixus, his Spartacus character. He's more clean cut that way. IRL, he always looks like he needs a haircut - which isn't terrible. And then I started blurting out names: Elijah Wood (on my list since Huck Finn *swoon*), Orlando Bloom, Josh Hutcherson, Nathan Williams, Gerard Way (don't judge - you know he's good looking), Michael Pitt, Carly's brother on iCarly - Jerry Trainor (talk about weird), Shane West, Chris Hemsworth - which is funny because I'm not a fan of his brother Liam (aka Gale Hawthorne)...I could keep going but I'll spare you.

While I was messing around with the new HBO Go app for the Xbox, I decided to watch Charlie St. Cloud and I'm convinced: Zac Efron is not a real person. I swear he was chiseled out of marble on Mount Olympus and Zeus has presented him to us to show that handsome men like him can be good looking and charming without being total assholes. He truly is a gift from the Gods. Maybe he's a Demi-God. Maybe Aphrodite had relations with Mr. Efron. Maybe Zeus had relations with Mrs. Efron. Who knows. Either way, he can't be real. All the close ups in the movie reduced me to tears. Yes, the movie was sappy and it made me cry anyway but the close ups on Zac Efron's face were so unreal. And beautiful. And inhuman. That's what shot him to the top of my list. Sorry Darren Criss - even though I'm convinced he's a Demi-God as well. He's an amazing singer and dancer (like Zac), he's extremely handsome (like Zac) and he's super charming (like Zac)!
Maybe there's this new crop of Hollywood celebs that's changing that self-righteous ego bullshit from the past. God(s) I hope so...

Until then, I present to you my (ever-changing) top ten list of celebrity crushes
